• This route is from the entrance to Maxwell Building to Acton Square, on the south side of The Crescent. 3 Acton Square and Joule House are accessed from Acton Square.

• This area has a paving slabs surface and is slightly uneven.
• To access the ramp, follow the path straight ahead then to the left from the automatic door.

• The ramp has a moderate gradient and a concrete surface.
• It is 120cm wide and has handrails both sides.

• The steps are in front of the entrance.
• There are 6, medium height, marked steps with handrails on both sides.
• These steps can be bypassed by using the ramp.

• After the ramp or steps, head left towards The Crescent.
• This area has a brick block paving surface, which is slightly uneven and has an easy upward slope.

• Just before the crossing, there are bollards, 169cm apart.
• There is a dropped kerb with tactile paving at the kerb edge at the road. The road has a zebra crossing marked on it, and a moderate slope up, then down.
• On the far side there is a dropped kerb, although it still has a shallow step up. It does not have tactile paving.

• After the crossing, the path has a tarmac surface with a moderate slope up then down.
• This stretch of path ends at the dropped kerb with tactile paving at the crossing for the Peel Park Campus exit road.

• At the tactile paved dropped kerb, turn right to cross the campus exit road.
• The road is level and has a tarmac surface.
• There is a dropped kerb with tactile paving on the far side.

• After the crossing, the path continues along The Crescent.
• The path has a slightly uneven tarmac surface, then tactile paving as it passes a crossing and then back to tarmac with an easy slope up.

• The path then passes behind a bus stop.
• It has a brick block paving surface here, with an easy slope up.

• Past the bus stop, there is a moderate slope as the path goes back to tarmac. It is slightly uneven with easy slopes in places.
• At the crossing there is tactile paving by the kerb then across the path.

• There is a pelican crossing here, with buttons 103 and 104cm high. The crossing does not have an audio signal.
• There are dropped kerbs with tactile paving both sides.
• The road is two lanes wide, has tarmac surface and a moderate slope up to the central reservation.

The Crescent Central Reservation

• The central reservation has a brick block paving surface, with an easy slope leading down to the west bound crossing. There is tactile paving at both front and rear edges.

• There is a pelican crossing here, with buttons 103 and 116cm high. The crossing does not have audio alarm.
• There are dropped kerbs with tactile paving both sides.
• The road is two lanes wide, has a tarmac surface and a moderate slope down to the far side.

Acton Square

• From the crossing, the tactile paving leads to the square, or you cross a short stretch of level tarmac paving.
• Acton Square has a block paving surface, with some areas of brick block paving. It is uneven with moderate slopes throughout.
• Joule House and 3 Acton Square are access off the square.
• At the far end of the square, on the far side of Christchurch Avenue, is the car park which contains bays used by both buildings.
