Introduction

Eden Park Station

  • The station is approximately 1135m from Bethlem Hospital.
  • There is a long slight ramp leading out of the station.
  • There is a handrail on the right as you go down.
  • At the bottom of the slope you turn right on to Upper Elmers End Road.

Upper Elmers End Road Crossing

  • The surface of the pathways is tarmac on both sides.
  • The gap between bollards at end of station pathway is 140cm wide on the left and 90cm wide on the right.
  • There are uneven surfaces.
  • There are dropped kerbs on both sides of the road with no tactile paving.
  • The dropped kerb on the Eden Park station side is steep.
  • There is a traffic island located in the road.
  • Cross the road and continue on Links Way.

Links Way

  • The surface of the pathway is made up of different sized block paving with some areas of tarmac.
  • There are easy slopes located along the pathway where it crosses residential driveways.
  • Cross at the roundabout on to Monks Orchard Road.
  • There are dropped curbs on both sides of the road without tactile paving.
  • The surface of the crossing is tarmac on the near side and block paving on the far side of the road.
  • A traffic island is located at this crossing.

Monks Orchard Road

  • The surface of the path is block paving with areas of tarmac.
  • The path is uneven in places.
  • Continue to the Eden Way crossing.

Eden Way Crossing

  • There are dropped curbs on both sides of the road without tactile paving.
  • The surface of the crossing is tarmac.

Monks Orchard Road to Main Gate

  • The surface of the path is block paving and then tarmac.
  • The path is uneven in places and has an easy incline leading to the main gate.
  • The pedestrian access gate is 127cm wide.
  • There is an easy slope leading through the gate on to the main path.
  • The pedestrian access gate opens away from you.
  • The pedestrian access gate is permanently held open.

Main Gate Path To Main Reception

  • The surface of the path is tarmac.
  • It is uneven in places.
  • At the service road crossing you turn left to cross the road.
  • There are dropped kerbs without tactile paving on each side of the road.
  • Cross the road using the marked crossing and then turn left into the sectioned off pedestrian access walkway to the main reception.
