Worcester is a beautiful Cathedral and University City with a fascinating history of industry, a wealth of interesting architecture, top class sports teams and venues, an unrivalled selection of high street names and boutiques, and a vibrant programme of events. The city is best known for its magnificent Cathedral but is also famous for the world-renowned Worcester Porcelain, the piquant Worcestershire Sauce and its cricket ground – one of the most picturesque in the country. Visit the Commandery to learn about Worcester’s important role in the English Civil War – and visit one of the many interesting contemporary exhibitions at the City Art Gallery. Stroll down Friar Street and admire the half-timbered buildings – including National Trust’s Greyfriars’ House & Garden and the 500-year-old Tudor House. Don’t forget to drop in to Worcester’s Guildhall - a truly beautiful building dating back to 1721, which has hosted royalty on numerous occasions.
