Warrington is a large town in Cheshire situated on the banks of the River Mersey with an estimated population of 207,700 people. Conveniently located around 20 miles east of Liverpool and 20 miles west of Manchester, the town boasts excellent road and rail links as well as many green spaces for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Warrington Borough Council’s vision is that ‘We will work together with our residents, businesses and partners to make Warrington a place where everyone can thrive’. The council also pledges to protect the most vulnerable, grow a strong economy, build strong, active and resilient communities and create a place for residents to be proud of.

In order to achieve this, the council works closely with communities and partners, including Warrington Disability Partnership (WDP), to support disabled people and people living with long term health conditions.

In Warrington, we believe we all have a role to play in ensuring people with disabilities, their families and carers, are supported to live their lives to the full and there should be no barriers for people living with disabilities.

The council is committed to continually improving the services available to people with disabilities and, working in partnership with other organisations, to ensure that they are accessible to everyone in the community. A number of children’s play areas in the town have recently been refurbished to include accessible play equipment which is available for everyone to enjoy.

DisabledGo is essential in raising awareness of what is currently available in Warrington for people with disabilities and provides up-to-date information about a wide range of local services, giving people the chance to experience the best of what Warrington has to offer.
