The Royal Borough of Greenwich is committed to improving the health and well-being of everyone who lives, works and learns in our borough.

This guide is part of our continuing commitment to improving accessibility across all Royal Borough services.

The guide will help people with disabilities, their carers, families and friends find out whether shops, pubs, restaurants and hundreds of other popular Royal Greenwich venues and public buildings are accessible to them, before they set off.

We know that people with disabilities often face isolation and it can be very difficult to find out whether places are accessible. We hope that this site will help the estimated 35,000 local people living with disabilities in Royal Greenwich, as well as the many thousands of people who work or study in, or visit the Royal Borough.

Improving access has opened up the borough for residents and made Royal Greenwich the destination of choice for thousands of visitors. Having successfully played the role of host borough for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games we are using this as the basis to inspire more people to take part in sport and physical activity.

We're continuing to improved access to our sports and leisure facilities – and as well as providing inclusive gym equipment, we also offer a number of sports opportunities for disabled people including wheelchair football, disability football, disability tennis, Boccia, Goal Ball, wheelchair basketball and swimming lessons for children with disabilities.

We will continue to strive to meet the needs of people living with disabilities, their carers, and all those who work, learn, live and visit Royal Greenwich.
