Manchester Royal Eye Hospital (MREH) provides secondary and tertiary care to residents of Greater Manchester and beyond. MREH provides an extensive range of services and facilities for both adults and children, these include the Emergency Eye Department, Ophthalmic Imaging, Ultrasound Unit, Electrodiagnosis, Laser Unit, Optometry, Orthoptics, the state-of-the-art Manchester Eye Bank and Ocular Prosthetics.

The new Eye Hospital opened as part of the New Hospitals Development in August 2009. It provides a new model of care by replacing fragmented facilities across three buildings and producing a better patient experience by separating planned and emergency treatment.

Manchester Royal Eye Hospital was 200 years old in 2014 and we celebrated this landmark achievement throughout the year with a number of events.
