Halton, made up of the twin towns of Runcorn and Widnes, sits on either side of the River Mersey. With a population of 120,000, the borough has a broad selection of shops, restaurants, cinemas, leisure facilities, libraries, parks and museums. The borough has a diverse economy with a focus on logistics, science and industrial manufacturing.

The Council is strongly committed to ensuring equality of access for all of our residents, and visitors. We are delighted to have partnered with DisabledGo to produce the access guide that will provide disabled people, their families and carers with greater access to information that will enable them to make their own informed decisions about where to shop, visit and access leisure and entertainment facilities in Halton.

Our access guides provides valuable detailed access information on various venues and public spaces across the Borough, including, shops, restaurants, leisure centres, parks, museums, and many more.

We would encourage all businesses and venues within Halton to view the guide and to see how they could improve the experience of customers and visitors with disabilities.

Initiatives such as DisabledGo play a crucial role in improving access not only to Council services but also to the wide range of business, community and leisure services available across the borough.

The website also helps to raise awareness of what is currently accessible and so encourages other to make the changes needed to improve accessibility.
