A welcome from Councillor Rhondda Geekie, Leader of East Dunbartonshire Council

As Leader of East Dunbartonshire Council I am pleased to welcome you to our newly updated guide to facilities in the local area. We embrace partnership working and are delighted to be working with Disabled Go again this year. Our recently published equality outcomes for East Dunbartonshire (2015-2017) highlight our commitment to advancing equality of opportunity for everyone in our communities.

East Dunbartonshire has a balanced mix of urban and rural areas. This guide provides a comprehensive reference point for those wishing to check access information before venturing out to enjoy our local landmarks, town centres and public spaces. Having experienced first-hand the difficulties and barriers out there for those with accessibility or mobility problems, this is an excellent source of information which restores an element of choice for people.

I hope that those who use this guide find it useful and can enjoy travelling to and around East Dunbartonshire.
