Dumfries and Galloway is a beautiful region in which to live and work or to visit. It is filled with natural beauty, contrasting landscapes and a fascinating history. Dumfries and Galloway is well recognised as a haven for the arts. Once the home of Robert Burns, Scotland's National Poet, today the region continues to inspire many artists who make the most of their surroundings.

Dumfries & Galloway Council and its partners are committed to ensuring that everyone can participate in our communities and to removing barriers to disabled people's participation in everyday life.

We have worked in partnership with Disabled Go, DG Voice, a local organisation of disabled people and local businesses and venues to develop a new Access Guide for Dumfries & Galloway. Residents and Visitors will find the online guide easy to use with good information on the accessibility of a wide range of venues and facilities. It covers parking, toilets, leisure centres, shops, restaurants, cinemas, accommodation and tourist attractions.
