Welcome to the Coventry site Foreword by Councillor Faye Abbott Cabinet Member for Adult Services

Coventry has a rich history and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year from around the world. Here in Coventry we believe that the Council, together with other public service providers and local businesses should continue to work to improve access to venues and services, building on the excellent work that is already happening.

We are delighted to be working with DisabledGo to provide a web-based guide which is based on hundreds of surveys undertaken by local disabled people and offers anyone living, working or visiting our city detailed access information about all kinds of shops, pubs, restaurants, hotels, theatres and other services.

All the buildings featured in the guide have been visited and thoroughly assessed so that, with just a few clicks of the mouse, anyone can judge for themselves whether the buildings they plan to visit are fully accessible to their needs.

By supporting this DisabledGo guide, Coventry City Council aims to ensure the provision of good local information for our residents and for visitors to our city so everyone can all take advantage of the many great things that Coventry has to offer.

We hope you will find this guide useful and would welcome any feedback or suggestions.

When accessing Council Services or Departments, Sign Language Interpreters can be booked directly from the Coventry & Warwickshire Sign Language Interpreting Service. To arrange for a Sign Language Interpreter please click here.

The assist-Mi app is a tool that offers comprehensive assistance to people with disabilities. Users can download the app and then request assistance when heading to service providers they plan to visit in the Coventry area so the help they need is ready and waiting for their arrival. assist-Mi also allows users to connect via two way messaging to the venue, enabling them to ask any specific questions they may have in real time, as well as find out about the accessibility of the building. The app is completely free of charge to download – To download assist-Mi please click here
