Blackpool and The Fylde College is recognised as one of the top colleges in the country. It has been designated as a National Beacon of Excellence and was recently re-accredited for the Charter Mark in recognition of the excellent service it provides to all its learners.

The College strives to be a genuinely inclusive learning organisation where staff and students are treated with respect and dignity and where everyone has a fair opportunity to fulfil their potential. We endeavour to develop an approach to disability equality that recognises and responds to the needs of all the communities we serve. In doing this, we aim to respect individual differences and not only to value, but also to celebrate, the diversity within our community.

We are justifiably proud of our reputation in this field, which, as we continue to fulfil and work towards exceeding the requirements of our Disability Equality duty, can only get stronger.

The College dates back to 1892 when a school for fishermen was established in Fleetwood. Today, it has 49 buildings located across the Fylde Coast with major campuses at Bispham, Central Blackpool, Ansdell and Fleetwood.

We are the fourth largest FE provider of HE in the country, offering more than 80 qualifications in both contemporary and more traditional subjects, from diplomas to post-graduate programmes.

As long-term investment continues to create a sustainable future for Blackpool, the College has completed a transformation programme of its own to provide vastly improved facilities for the community it serves. A multi-million pound re-development of the College’s Central Blackpool site to create a state-of-the-art university campus officially opened in December 2009 and now offers students a modern and stimulating environment.

We are pleased to be working with DisabledGo to ensure our college provides a welcoming and inclusive learning experience for all.
