Getting Help and Assistance

  • There is a member of staff available for help and assistance.
  • There is an assistance dog toilet or toileting area at the venue/nearby.

Getting Here

  • By Road View
    • From London, take the A3 and follow the brown venue signs to Sandown Park. Exit A3 on to the A307 and continue to follow the brown venue signs. Alternatively, from the M25, exit at Junction 10 and follow the A3 towards London then exit onto the A307 and follow the brown venue signs. 
      If using a Sat Nav, please enter 'Portsmouth Road' rather than the Sandown Park postcode - this will bring you to the main car park which is just off the A307 (Esher High Street) and is directly in front of the Main Entrance.
    • Parking is free in the centre of the racecourse, which you can reach from the More Lane entrance. Please note that the course will be shut for approximately 10 minutes before and after each race as there will be horses on the course. The entrance/exit will otherwise be open/re-opened. Alternatively, for £5 you can park in the main car park off the Portsmouth Road.
      Coach parking is free - just follow the Sandown Park signposts on all approach routes and park in the area off the Portsmouth Road.
      There are allocated Blue Badge parking spaces in the main Portsmouth Road car park, which is free of charge to all Blue Badge holders. The parking is very close to the Main Entrance and the Grandstand.
  • By Bus View
    • There is a bus stop within 150 metres of the venue.
    • There are a number of bus stops located along Portsmouth Road.
  • By Train View
    • The nearest Railway Station is Esher Station .
    • Esher station is just a 10 minute flat walk from the Main Entrance and can be reached by crossing the centre of the course on racedays (please note that the course will be shut for approximately 10 minutes before and after each race as there will be horses on the course) or by the complimentary raceday minibus service.
      On a non-raceday, visitors should turn left out of the station onto Station Road and then right at the T- junction to join the A307 Portsmouth Road. The entrance to Sandown Park is on the right hand side.

Raceday Parking

Main Grandstand Entrance and Foyer

Parade Ring

  • There is step free access around the edge of the Parade Ring.
  • The surface of the paths vary between tarmac and block paving.
  • Within the Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure there are some very slight and slight slopes in places.
  • The viewing area has 1 to 2 clearly marked steps from the rear to the front.
  • Within the Premier Enclosure there are steep slopes leading to the rear of the Parade Ring viewing area.
  • There are 1 to 5 clearly marked steps from the rear to the front of the viewing area.
  • There are stools at the front of the Parade Ring viewing area.

Main Grandstand - Terrace Viewing Area

  • The terrace viewing area is located off the Main Grandstand first floor corridor.
  • There are double width doors leading from the corridors onto the viewing area.
  • There are 15+ steps leading up from the Parade Ring.
  • There is step free access along the viewing area.
  • The surface of the viewing area varies between tiles and artificial grass.
  • There are tables and chairs available.
  • There are some chairs with armrests available.
  • The height of the tables are 68cm.
  • There is a slight slope leading from the tiled area to the artificial grass area.
  • The viewing is divided into the Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure and Premier Enclosure.
  • There is a good view of the Parade Ring from the seating area.
  • There are 1 to 6 steps from the rear of the viewing area to the front of the viewing area.
  • The steps are clearly marked.

Designated Seating Area(s) (Parade Ring)

  • The name of the designated seating area is Parade Ring.
  • There is step-free access to the designated seating area.
  • The designated seating area(s) is/are clearly signed.
  • The view from the seating area is good.
  • The number of spaces for wheelchair users varies (dependent on match/event).
  • There is sufficient space for an assistance dog to rest.
  • There is a dedicated steward to provide assistance.
  • There is an accessible toilet close to the seating area.

Winners Enclosure

  • The Winners Enclosure is located to the left of the Parade Ring.
  • There is step free access to the Winners Enclosure.
  • The surface of the path leading to the Winners Enclosure is tarmac and block paving.
  • There is a slight slope on the path.
  • The surface around the Winners Enclosure is grass.
  • There is a bust of the Queen Mother at the rear of the Winners Enclosure.
  • There is bench seating available.
  • There are 1 to 9 steps from rear to the front of the viewing area.
  • There are 3 steps between each grass viewing landing.
