Access Guide

  • The owners of Faskally House created this 'model woodland' in the 19th century and the house later became a school for young foresters. You can explore the rich mix of tree species along the Foresters' Trail, or take the easy access Dunmore Trail around the loch. Water lilies bloom here in summer, and there's spectacular show of autumn colour.

  • Watch out for wildlife here too. There are kingfishers, herons, and goldeneye ducks that nest in the trees.

  • The multi-award winning outdoor spectacular, The Enchanted Forest, will return to Faskally Wood in autumn 2017.

  • Faskally Forest is just off the B8019, about 1 mile (2km) north-west of Pitlochry. The car park is at grid reference NN 922 591. PH16 5LB is the nearest postcode.

  • You can catch a bus to Faskally from Pitlochry. Visit Traveline Scotland for details.

  • The nearest Railway Station is Pitlochry.

  • Faskally Wood is not generally staffed.
