South Road Park

  • South Road Park is bounded by South Road, Arran Drive, Charleston and Mallaig Avenue. It is home to the Lynch Sport Centre, and to other outside sport facilities including football pitches, an all-weather multi-use games area, a skate park, a children’s play area and a bowling green. There are also allotments behind Tesco. The nearest pedestrian access and parking is in Dighty Place, but there are two sets of steps from the car park. The park has a woodland area and avenues of trees with paths linking the housing estates. The main park from Mallaig Avenue to Arran Drive that runs parallel to South Road is part of the Dundee Green Circular Route, a 27 mile cycle route around Dundee City.
  • Paths throughout the park are generally over 200cm wide. The main paths have easy to medium slopes. However, paths become steep at the upper (south) side of the park toward Charleston Drive side of the park. The paths have a tarmac surface. There are no benches apart from at the children’s play area, multi-use games area and skate park.

Children's Play Area
