Equipment and Resources to Borrow

  • You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

  • You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: trampers. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

  • There is a small charge for use of the trampers, unless you are a paid up member of Countryside.

Route to (Gardens)

  • From the visitor reception, turn right and follow the path for a short way.
    Turn left towards the church and turn left again before you reach the church.
    The gardens are straight ahead, starting at the Victorian Flower Garden.
  • The route to the area is step-free level.
  • Path surfaces along the route are bonded gravel.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is an accessible shuttle which can take visitors to this area.

Outdoor Spaces

  • This information is for the access point located ahead after leaving the visitor reception.
  • There is step-free level access into the area.
  • There is open access at the surveyed access point.
  • The following outdoor facilities are available: parkland, woodland, formal gardens and gardens.
  • The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass, bonded gravel and compact earth.
  • Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor spaces.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is step-free level access around some of the area.
  • There are more than 3 steps without handrails and steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas .
