University of Southampton

Welcome

With over 22,000 students and around 5000 staff, the University of Southampton is acknowledged as one of the country's top institutions for engineering, computer science and medicine. The University maintained its position as one of the UK’s top research universities in the latest national assessment of research and was ranked 12th and shortlisted for ‘University of the Year’ in the 2008 Sunday Times league tables.

With over 20 Academic Schools and five campuses situated around Southampton and one campus in Winchester, the University's main Highfield Campus is approximately 3 miles (5 kilometres) from the city centre, providing easy access to the great amenities in town. Getting to the University couldn't be simpler with excellent road and rail links and Southampton International airport situated on the outskirts of the city. We also have Uni-link, our own award-winning bus service.

At the University of Southampton, we are committed to equality and diversity both in employment and for students. For disabled people this means considering not just the physical environment, but also the ways in which we communicate, the provision of information, the services and support we offer to staff and students, the accessibility of opportunities, the education and teaching quality and the overall experience of everyone in our University community.

We are very pleased to be working with DisabledGo on making information about our university accessible to all; you will also find all our current job vacancies on the DisabledGo website. We hope you find this useful and look forward to hearing from you.
