Welcome

Welcome to the accessibility guides for the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). We are very pleased to be working with DisabledGo to ensure that all our prospective and current students, staff and visitors have clear information on the accessibility of our buildings.

We are one of the largest universities in the UK with a student and staff community of approximately 35,000 people; over 500 undergraduate courses and 200 taught postgraduate programmes. We are located in the heart of Preston with further campuses at Burnley in East Lancashire, Westlakes in West Cumbria, and Llangollen in North Wales.

We have a diverse student and staff community and are strongly committed to enabling equality of educational opportunity and being an outstanding employer. The 2012 Sunday Times University Guide description of UCLan writes: “Inclusiveness and innovation are defining traits of this university”.

We strive to remove any barriers to participation and are keen to hear the student and staff voice. We have an active Disability Advisory Group and a Staff Disability Network to help us make positive changes to improve the student and staff experience. Delivering disability equality is very important to us and it is at the heart of our equality and diversity work.

We hope you find this information useful. We would also be delighted to hear from you directly if you require any further information. Please contact us via email, or on 01772 201201.
