Welcome

Thanet, made up of the famous seaside towns of Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate and the surrounding villages, is situated on the southeastern tip of Kent. With some of the country’s top beaches, Thanet boasts 26 miles of sandy bays and the area is also home to several areas of outstanding natural beauty, making it a popular visitor destination.

Thanet enjoys a unique location, close to the French coast, but still well connected to London, allowing people easy access for a day trip or weekend break from the capital. Our three main towns all have something different to offer disabled people, from Ramsgate, with its superb examples of Regency and Victorian architecture and the country’s only Royal Harbour, to Broadstairs with its links to Dickens and the golden sands, donkey rides and arts and café culture of Margate.

Thanet District Council is committed to promoting equal opportunities and equal access to our services for everyone and the DisabledGo website will provide valuable information for both disabled residents and visitors on the facilities available in our area.
