Suffolk is a great place to live, work and explore.
Home to around 720,000 people, Suffolk is a diverse county; offering picturesque villages, hamlets as well as historic market and costal towns. Suffolk has a great range of local attractions, including, Abbots Hall and the Museum of East Anglian Life in Stowmarket, Aldeburgh Music at Snape Maltings and Gainsboroughs House in Sudbury. There is also a wide range of pubs, cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and extensive parkland and open spaces such as The Abbey Gardens in Bury St Edmunds, Brandon Country Park and Christchurch Park in Ipswich.
The county council is committed to ensuring residents and visitors to the county have the confidence and freedom to make informed decisions and can enjoy all that Suffolk has to offer.
I am delighted to be working in partnership with DisabledGo to provide this important information to both local people, their families as well as visitors to the county. The access guide provides information of more than 1000 venues, ranging from leisure facilities, museums, theatres shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. All the venues have been chosen by the local community for the local community and visitors.
The work DisabledGo is carrying out on our behalf will ensure people with a disability can make informed decisions about which leisure facilities, museums, theatres shop or restaurant they want to visit. We have had tremendous support from local businesses in Suffolk which demonstrates a real commitment to improving access for people with disabilities.
Please provide feedback on your experiences. With your help, the site can grow with more venues being added year on year.
