St Peters Hospital

Welcome

Ashford and St Peter’s NHS Trust provides acute hospital services at St. Peters Hospital in Chertsey and Ashford Hospital in Middlesex, to a large and diverse population, with a catchment area of around 450,000 stretching from West Hounslow to Woking across the Boroughs of Hounslow, Spelthorne, Elmbridge, Runnymede and Woking.

Although West Surrey is a relatively affluent part of the country there are, nonetheless, pockets of deprivation with higher health and social needs within the Trust’s catchment area. The catchment population also has a higher proportion of older people with increased health needs, longer average stays in hospital, and a greater need for social and community care.

The 2001 Census Data indicated that there are 11 million disabled adults in the UK which represents approximately 20% of the adult population. This includes people with less obvious or non visible impairments who are included in the category of having a life limiting long term illness. In relation to the local population, just over 1 million people consider themselves to have a Life Limiting Long Term Illness. This equates to 13.5% of the local population served by Ashford and St Peter’s NHS trust.

We welcome disabled employees and visitors and are committed to continually improving access to employment, facilities and buildings. We aim to ensure that all visitors, stakeholders and potential stakeholders of our community can access clear information on the accessibility of our physical estate.
