NHS Plymouth

NHS Plymouth is the Primary Care Trust (PCT) for Plymouth. We are the local branch of the National Health Service (NHS) and the lead organisation in Plymouth’s health community. One of our core roles is therefore to assess the health needs in Plymouth and then provide clear guidance and direction to other health providers and partners in the city about what is needed and how we can work best together to create a Healthy Plymouth.

As well as being strong leaders for the health community we are responsible for providing high quality, efficient and effective health care services, or commissioning them from others. Equally as important is our role in promoting healthy lifestyles and helping people in Plymouth to stay healthy.
