Introduction

In Croydon we celebrate diversity. We believe that it is in our business interest to do so. One in four of our residents is either disabled or has a disabled person in their immediate circle.
Croydon Council has worked in partnership with DisabledGo and business to deliver the first local access guide. It has already helped to empower disabled people their carers, family and friends. We are pleased that several other councils have now followed up sponsoring more local guides.
The DisabledGo website should make a great difference to disabled people by enabling informed choices about facilities on offer, whether it is in shops, restaurants, cinemas, libraries, leisure centres or elsewhere.
We are also committed to improving our own council services, making them more accessible for everyone.
We hope that you will find the guide useful and welcome any comments to improve or update the information.
