Welcome

Liverpool aims to become a premier European city which has accessible, responsive and integrated business services. Liverpool City Council is committed to working hard to ensure that the environment and the delivery of its services are both inclusive and accessible to all and has published a corporate equality plan - a 3 year, over-arching strategic plan containing clear targets and a summary of the work we are doing to provide services that recognise and promote peoples individual qualities irrespective of age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation and disability.

Initiatives such as DisabledGo play a crucial role in improving access not only to Council services but also to the wide range of business, community and leisure services available across the city. This Liverpool guide allows our residents and many visitors the opportunity to make their own informed choices about where in the city to shop, visit and access leisure and entertainment facilities.

As European Capital of Culture in 2008, Liverpool recognises that the enthusiasm, creativity and participation of our communities is central to leaving an enduring legacy from the year. We also extend a warm Liverpool Welcome to visitors to enjoy the excellent museums, galleries, attractions, theatres, bars and restaurants of our dynamic city.
