Lancaster and Morecambe College

Lancaster & Morecambe College is the main further education provider in the Lancaster and Morecambe area, with courses for school leavers and adults. The college provides a range of courses from entry level and apprenticeships to foundation degrees and is also a major provider of workplace training to local employers. We have a diverse student body and strong support systems in place for students, as well as a disabled learners’ forum and an active students’ union.

Practical skills gained in our excellent real work environments under the guidance of experienced tutors ensure our students leave LMC ready to build a career. Our facilities include working beauty and hair salons, restaurants, carpentry and joinery studio, brick working studio and dog grooming parlour where our students gain work experience. We also have a nursery for the children of staff and students, with an outstanding OFSTED rating.

LMC was rated as good by OFSTED in our most recent inspection. The report stated that “Learners receive good individual support and sound initial advice and guidance”
