John Wheatley College in the East of Glasgow has been a key provider of community learning opportunities for the last 20 years.
The College’s two main campuses in the East End and Easterhouse provide a range of core and vocational skills programmes from Access 1 and 2 level up to HNC. Access to Higher Education programmes are also available.
The College's portfolio of programmes includes Business Administration, Art, Design & New Media, Social & Healthcare, Working with Communities, Computing & Digital Media, Creative Industries, Hospitality & Catering, Construction skills, Photography, Sound Engineering, Early Education & Childcare, Hairdressing & Beauty, Flexible Learning programmes, Literacies learning and ESOL. Programmes are available on a flexible, part-time and full-time basis. The College Guidance Team includes a referral service for people requiring additional support help students manage their studies.
The College also delivers a range of specialist programmes for students with additional learning needs.
Both main campus buildings are fully accessible to learners, service users and staff who have a disability or sensory impairment. A wide range of adaptive technologies and support is available and there is access to state-of-the-art Flexible Learning centres with computer banks, extensive Library facilities, fully-equipped Training Kitchens and Restaurants, Hairdressing & Beauty salons, coffee-shops and childcare centres for children 0-5 years.
