Welcome

Croydon Health Services - here for you
Croydon Health Services provide hospital and community services from a number of community and specialist clinics throughout Croydon.

These include:

• Croydon University Hospital (formerly Mayday University Hospital))
• Purley War Memorial Hospital
• The Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Centre in Thornton Heath
• A minor injuries unit in New Addington
• Community bases at Purley, Sanderstead, New Addington, Broad Green, Woodside and others throughout Croydon.

The Trust was formed on 1st August 2010 through the integration of Croydon Community Health Services and Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust.

Around 4,500 staff provide services for a population of over 340,000 people who are relatively young with a high level of ethnic diversity.

The formal name of the Trust as defined in its Establishment Order is Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust.

An application to the Secretary of State for Health to amend this to Croydon Health Services NHS Trust has been made.

Here for you

A recent public engagement programme called the Patient Revolution led to the development of a new vision and five promises to the people of Croydon.
At Croydon Health Services we promise that we are always here for you.

We promise everyone in Croydon, whether you are in hospital, in the community or at home, that we will do our best to ensure:

• You feel cared for by helpful and welcoming staff, who respect you as an individual

• You feel in safe hands with highly professional staff who work well together in clean clinics and hospitals

• You feel confident in your treatment from skilled teams of compassionate clinicians who listen to you and keep you informed

• You feel we value your time with convenient appointments, minimal waiting and care closer to home.

• You feel it’s getting better all the time as we continue to improve our services

These promises, developed with our patients, carers and staff help us deliver the pledges in the NHS Constitution and our own corporate objectives.

Working in partnership

As one of the few integrated health organisations delivering services in both the hospital and community, we want to remove administrative barriers which can get in the way of efficient and effective care and provide people with healthcare in the right local setting whether that is their home, a community clinic or hospital.

We are committed to continually improving access to employment, facilities and buildings and that our patients, staff, visitors and carers can access clear information on the accessibility of our physical estate as well as clear and accessible information on the services themselves.
