Crawley Borough Council is delighted to support the DisabledGo guide to our town.
This is a much needed service and I am sure the guide will become an invaluable resource for disabled people, their carers, families and friends.
We have ambitious plans for our town, particularly our town centre, and we want to ensure that everyone can enjoy what Crawley has to offer its residents and visitors. DisabledGo was founded to empower disabled people so they can judge for themselves which venues are suitable for their own individual needs. Their work will also help service providers recognise that it's good business sense to meet the needs of disabled customers.
Visitors and residents alike are now able to check which shops, pubs, restaurants and many other goods and services are accessible to them according to their own needs.
It will open up our town to the one in four local people who are either disabled or close to someone who is. It will also help to promote our town far and wide.
All the venues featured on the site have pledged to give their best service to people who have additional needs. By displaying the DisabledGo window sticker they can let people know that they are taking part in the scheme.
We hope you will enjoy visiting some of the places featured and invite you to send your comments on the services offered to DisabledGo via the website.
