Welcome

We are London's Leading College as we are the only College that can boast that the quality of our teaching and learning provision has been rated as outstanding on all measures by Ofsted. We have also been awarded Beacon status by the Learning and Skills Council for our excellence and innovation in teaching and learning, leadership and management.

Over 20,000 students are welcomed to City and Islington College from a wide range of backgrounds, ethnicities and age groups. They are supported by almost 1,000 members of staff who enjoy a range of benefits including excellent facilities and working environments, gym membership discounts, development opportunities and lots more.

Our commitment to equality of opportunity is demonstrated in our policies and procedures, and the monitoring and analysis of equality data that is regularly reported to governors and managers. This can lead to a variety of steps being taken, including specialist workshops on specific employment practice, the development and updating of procedures and the adaption of buildings and the working environment.

We are one of the few colleges to employ an Equality and Diversity Manager to ensure that we continue to develop and that we meet and hopefully exceed all statutory requirements. We have a Disability Equality Action Plan that has been created in consultation with members of staff and our Disability Equality Sub Committee.

We welcome people with disabilities and are proud to display the “Positive about Disabled People” symbol. We are always happy to receive feedback about our facilities and will aim to accommodate any particular needs you may have in visiting our sites.
