Foreword by Councillor Paul Bettison, Leader Bracknell Forest Council, Executive Member for Community Cohesion and Timothy Wheadon, Chairman of the Bracknell Forest Partnership Board
The Bracknell Forest Partnership is committed to advancing equality of opportunity, ensuring that Bracknell Forest is a borough of opportunity for everyone. Bracknell Forest Council in partnership with Bracknell Forest Homes, the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, Thames Valley Police, Sandhurst Town Council, Bracknell Town Council, Crowthorne Parish Council and Warfield Parish Council is pleased to sponsor this Disabled Go access guide.
Bracknell Forest has much to offer residents and visitors alike, including excellent leisure facilities and high quality countryside and open space, with a third of our area comprising woodland. This access guide has been designed to enable people with disabilities who live, work or visit to see what the borough has to offer. The guide covers a broad list of venues including shops, transport, entertainment, leisure facilities, culture and public services. You can check access for wheelchair users and for people with physical, learning disability or sensory access concerns.
This guide aims to benefit people with disabilities by providing information to support their exploration of the borough, helping them to exercise independence and choice. It is part of our commitment to make Bracknell Forest more inclusive by creating the opportunity for people with disabilities to participate more fully, as well as supporting businesses and services to be more inclusive. By encouraging improved access for all disabled people, businesses and services can share in the significant consumer market they represent.
The Partnership would like to thank the Bracknell Forest Access Advisory Panel and all those local people with disabilities who have supported the development of the guide. We hope you find it useful.
