Birmingham is one of the UK’s most vibrant and diverse cities, being made up of a wide range of cultural, faith and other communities. The City attracts a vast number of visitors to the various attractions such as shopping, entertainment and leisure facilities.
As a City Council we are striving to provide accessible information and enable all citizens to exercise choice in use of facilities in the City. To this end this online access guide was developed in conjunction with disabled people and will provide much needed and improved information about a whole range of venues such as cinemas, hotels, restaurants, parks, leisure centres and tourist attractions – in total this covers 800 venues. I believe this guide will prove to be a fantastic resource for anyone who wants to find out for themselves whether the venue they plan to visit is fully accessible to meet their needs.
The online guide will provide benefits for businesses too, helping them to reach more customers by publishing the access they offer.
