Introduction

  • Comments View
    • Cutty Sark, the last surviving tea clipper ship, was reopened in 2012 after a major redesign of access and the exhibitions.
    • Almost all the ship is now accessible to wheelchair users.
    • Visitors follow a set route around the venue starting in the Lower Hold of the ship and working up to the Main Deck.
    • From there visitors move down to the dock level beneath the ship, before returning up to street level.
    • This guide follows the set route.
    • All wheelchair access to Cutty Sark is via a platform lift within the ship.
    • Electric scooters or powered wheelchairs can only be accommodated if they are small enough to enter the lift.
    • Manual wheelchairs are available to borrow - please ask at the Ticket Desk.
    • Please note that for safety reasons only three wheelchair users are allowed in the Cutty Sark at any one time.
    • Booking is recommended.
