Sheep Street Overview

  • Sheep Street can be approached from Waterside, overlooking the River Avon.
  • Sheep Street is over 200m in length with an easy sloped gradient leading up to the junction with High Street and Chapel Street.
  • The pathways either side of the street are a mixture of block paving and concrete flagstone and vary in width from 2m to 4m wide.
  • On-street parking is permitted on one side of the road only.
  • At the top of Sheep Street at the High Street and Church Street junction there are benches to sit on.

Sheep Street from the Waterside Junction

  • As you approach Sheep Street from the Waterside junction there are dropped kerbs with tactile paving at the road crossing.
  • The bollards to protect the shop fronts either side of the junction have a width of 140cm between them and do not contrast with the background very well in all lighting conditions.
  • The pathways leading from the junction are 240cm wide.
  • The pathways have a surface of block paving.
  • The pathway leading from the Waterside junction has an easy gradient leading up to the High Street / Union Street junction.
  • There are no dropped crossings on Sheep Street to cross over the road between the top and bottom of the street.
