Getting To The Hospital

  • By Road View
    • Peterborough City Hospital is situated off Bretton Gate which is to the North West of Peterborough City Centre, just off the A47. The hospital is clearly signposted from all major routes which include the A47, the A1139 and the A15. If you are dropping someone off at the hospital there are allocated drop off points, located near to most entrances to the hospital.
    • The main car park is located directly outside the main entrance to the hospital. Additional car parks are located throughout the hospital grounds, outside all entrances. As you enter, please take a ticket from the entrance barrier. You need to keep your ticket with you and pay at the pay station on your way back to your car. Designated Blue Badge car parks are not barrier controlled and are located outside the main hospital entrance, the Haematology/Oncology entrance, the Emergency Care entrance, and the Women's and Childrens Unit. Parking is free for Blue Badge holders. If space is not available in the Blue Badge car parks please park in any barrier controlled car park and present your ticket and Blue Badge to the main reception desk for validation prior to leaving the hospital. Parking is free for all cancer patients. Please present your ticket to the Haematology/Oncology or Radiotherapy reception desk for validation prior to leaving the hospital.
  • By Bus View
    • There are onsite bus stops, including one which is located close to the main entrance. Buses do not stop at the bus stop outside the main entrance between 07:30 and 09:00 and 16:30 to 18:00, there is an alternative bus stop (near the traffic lights), a short walk from the Main Hospital on the Hospital campus. There is an electronic bus timetable situated in the Main Atrium. You can use Traveline to start to plan your journey by bus.
  • By Train View
    • The nearest station is Peterborough which is 1.9 miles away. The main bus station is opposite the Railway Station. There are regular buses to the Hospital. To view the route use the Google Maps link in the Useful Links section below.

Getting Help and Assistance

  • There is a Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) at the hospital.

    • 'Sign Live' is a system using IPads which enables BSL sign language to be used 24 hours a day in the emergency departments without the delay of waiting for an interpreter.
    • The dog toilet area does not have wayfinding signage to it. It is access by following the access roads towards the car park for Robert Horrell.

The Faith Centre is located to the left.
