    • During non term time the Learning Resource Centre is open from 08:45 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday and from 08:45 to 16:00 on Friday, closing 12:30 - 13:30 for lunch.

Getting Here

  • By Road View
    • From Junction 6 of M3: At Black Dam roundabout take the first exit, joining the A30 Ringway South. After one mile, go straight over roundabout, staying on the Ringway. After a mile, at Winchester Road roundabout, take the second exit, joining Ringway West. Very shortly, take the slip road on the left. At the top of the slip road, turn right on to Worting Road. BCoT is a quarter of a mile.
      From Junction 7 of M3: Follow signs for Basingstoke town centre for approximately three miles and going over three roundabouts. As you pass Basingstoke Football Club on the left, keep in the left hand lane. At the next roundabout take the first exit, joining the Ringway West. Very shortly, take the slip road on the left. At the top of the slip road, turn right on to Worting Road. BCoT is a quarter of a mile.
  • By Bus View
    • The nearest bus stop is the BCoT stop on Worting Road outside the south site of the college. This stop is serviced by the 3, 11 and 16 buses. There is a bus station is in Festival Place Shopping Centre, go to stop J, the journey takes about 6 minutes.
  • By Train View
    • The nearest train station is Basingstoke. This station is serviced by National Rail, Great Western Railway and Southwestern Railway. The station is about half a mile from the college. Buses are available from outside the station.

    • The main entrance is the automatic single door that is 116cm wide. There are security barriers inside this entrance that are 146cm wide (photographs 1-3).
    • There is another entrance which is a single automatic door with push-pads on either side (out of order at time of survey August 2021, so is currently manual). This is shown in photograph 4.

Reception (Library/ Learning Hub)

    • There is a receptionists desk with a 96cm counter and a lowered 76cm counter. There are plastic screens which limit the ability to use the counter (August 2021).

    • The auxiliary aids are not kept in the Learning Resource Centre, but can be made available on request.
    • The library/learning hub has computers on desks that are 73cm high and various desks that are 70cm high. There is a mixture of sofas and chairs without armrests (Photographs 1-4).
    • There is a touch screen with controls 120-145cm for borrowing/ returning books (photograph 5).
    • There are 3 separate learning pods/ rooms for one person within the library. They have similar desks and chairs to the rest of the area. The doors are over 75cm wide, manual, single, heavy and open towards you (photograph 6 and 7).

Lift (F Block)

    • There are various similar flights of stairs within the building. Photographs 1 and 2 show the stairs by the learning hub.
    • Photographs 3 and 4 show the stairs located closer to the main entrance to the building, with similar stairs leading up to the blended learning area on the other side of the first floor.

Blended Learning Area

  • The Blended Learning Area is located to the right as you exit the lift down at the end of the corridor. There is a flight of stairs which also leads into the room.
  • It is a teaching area with computer terminals available.
  • Blended Learning involves student computer based learning set and timetabled by tutors.
  • The desks are 73cm high with clear space underneath of 70cm. The chairs are adjustable and without armrests.

Accessible Toilet

    • The nearest accessible toilets are located in Building F on the south site of the college.
